Partial quotient is splitting up numbers into groups. In 483 divided by 4 your splitting 483 into 4 groups. So first your going to want to subtract a large number first. You can do 100 because 4 times 100 is 400. So 483 minus 400 equals 83. Then you can do 10 because 4 times ten equals 40. So 83 minus 40 equals 43. So then you can do another ten. 43 minus 40 equals 3. Now the number you have is smaller than your divisor. That means that you have a remainder. Now you want to add up all your partial quotients. So 100 plus 10 plus 10 equals 120. Now you check your work with multiplication. You multiply your quotient with your divisor. Once you do that you add your remainder, and you should get your dividend.

Your useing smaller numbers than the dividend and multiply it by the divisor until you get a smaller number than your divisor or until you get zero.

First I would moltiply 4x100=400 next you would subtract 400 from428 and you would have 28 left. next I would do 4x5=20. Then moltiply 4x2=8 and last add your partal quoshents 100+5+2=107 and that is your anser

First you need to find the highest amount (428 400 100x4=400 so subtract that) . Next you need to countiue searching for the next highest number (which most of the time it is in the tens place /meaning 20 4x4=16 so subtract 16 and get 12 .) For the ones place you might have to subtract a couple times(4x3=12 subtract 12 and get 0) . If you end up with a number smaller than your divisor (in this case 4) it is your remainder(in this case we have 0 left so you do not have a remainder) .

Using the example 428 divided by 4, we would first think of a # like 100 or 10. We would use 100 as the first #. 4 x 100 = 400. 428 - 400 = 28. Then we would use the # 5. 4 x 5 = 20. 28 - 20 = 8. Then we would use the # 2. 4 x 2 = 8. 8 - 8 = 0. Then we would add all the partial quotients to get the real quotient. We add 400 + 5 + 2. The awnser is 407. Then we check.

first you write down your problem.
next you think of a number that you can multiply by your divisor.
for example: 4 divided by 428. i set up my problem. i think i can put 100 in in each group. then you reduce 400 from 428 that gives me 28 . now after you do that you would continue multiplying 4 times something. i will do 4 times 4 that gives me a product of 16 ,so 28 subtacted by 16 gives me 12 . i know that 4 times 3 gives me a product of 12 so 12 subtacted by 12 gives me 0 . you add your partial amount by the digits on the side of the other line . i added theam up so i got 107

You have to set up your problem so you can put your Partial Quotient on the right side. If you had the problem 483 divided by 4 you would need to pick a number and multiply it by 4. Then, subtract your quotient from your 4 times a number and subtact your first number.

Partial quotient is when you decompose your dividened into its groups, but instead you do it diffrent .Example four hundred, twenty-eight divided into four well first think of a number that is close to your dividend that you now is a multupile of four

Partail quotient is where you subtract the dividened with a multiplied number which is multiplied by the divisor.

Partail Quotient is when take a certain number and mutiply it then subtract it from the dividend. For example:428 divided by 4 first take 100 mutiply it by 4 you get 400 then subract it from the divdend and you get 28.Then take 7 mutiply by 4 you get 28 th subract from the dividend and you get 0.Add the partial quotients together and you get 107.

partial quotient is when you take that number and multiply the dividend and your divisor then you subtract. for exsample 428 divied by 4 you take 100 and multiply 100 x 4 = 400 then you diduck 400 and 428 then you should get 28 then I would multiply 5 and 4 x 5=20 then you subtract 20-28 you should get 8 left I would do 2 x4 witch = 0 . my quotion is 107
